Rural Knowledge Network

" It is not important for everybody to sit on a computer and tap the keyboard; what is important is to bring the benefit of information technology to the common people of the country.”

Call to bring in development in Agriculture sector

Last week my fried invited me to accompany him to his village, being on weekend and got nothing to do, I thought let me enjoy the beauty of nature. I’s very excited to visit his village, wanted to see those green farms, cattle and mud houses. When I visited that village all my expectations and excitement drastically reduced, looking at the site I was completely disappointed.I could hardly see any green fields, the lands were dry and unused, and there were no signs of green fields, I spoke to people over their and got to know that the plight is because of poor production even after investing a huge amount on good fertilizers and seeds. The villagers did not wanted to take any more risk and decided to work on daily wages in nearby factories. This sounded like a very huge problem from their end, but when I tried to analyze, the problem was very little, they needed guidance and proper techniques and new technology to increase their cultivation. They had enough water to grow crops, but the only problem was they are not able to increase the production level. I’s very helpless because I had very little knowledge about farming, I would definitely want to help these villagers to get back to their farming, can any body help me out?

Women development-our responsibility

It’s been more than 60 years that we have obtained independence, but women of our country are still struggling for their rights. It’s very sad to see Indian women especially in lower sectors, who are still being abused and harassed. The core reason for facing all the hardships is just because they are dependent, dependent on their husbands or male family members, who take women for granted, I’ve seen many women who were beaten and harassed for simple things and these women quietly took all the pain and are dependent on some one. I’ve been closely working with them and am providing them with shelter, employment, skill training etc. and I’m looking forward to expand my services and get in touch with other organizations, which are doing the same kind of job.

The other face of developed India

The world is on its way to globalization and India is no where far behind in joining the streamline, this made me really happy and proud to be an Indian, but at the same time, I’ve also seen another face of India where the farmers and fishermen and other non IT sectors are declining towards poverty due to ignorance and lack of knowledge. Mainly in the agriculture sector, People are not happy with the produce and the profit margin they are incurring is quite low, due to various reasons. I wish our India not only flourishes IT industry but also agriculture industry.

Disability-disturbances

Being healthy and fit is god’s gift to us, we have to take care of us very carefully. But faith plays a big role in ones life and one might loose out everything in a fraction of second. In today’s world there are many accidents and unforeseen incidents which keep happening and one cannot do anything about it .Of course the government is trying to prevent them, but yet incidents happen and these incidents leave a big mark in ones life ,many loose their lives and if they are alive, most of them are disabled, but the real challenge for the people who are disabled is to get going, I know its very easy to say, but when it comes on oneself its very tough to face it. But it not an impossible task to get on and get going. I’ve been counseling many and encouraged them to live and get the best out of what they have got. But in my practice I’ve seen many people trying very hard to pull themselves to work, but they need a lot more support in the form of skill training and employment, I’ve been trying to provide employment and arrange training sessions but its not enough and to accomplish what I desired for them requires lot more than what I’ve been doing.
